Clay, Spa, Eat and Sleep

Reconnect with your sense of touch

Awaken your sense of touch over a weekend of tactile treats. Mindful Mud is a unique opportunity for you to experience the joy of working with clay, be pampered at a local spa and have delicious food served to you by an in-house chef. An overnight stay in a delightful cottage by the lake allows you time to unplug, unwind and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of clay.
In our very connected visual world, the sense of touch is often neglected. This intimate, relaxing weekend break will allow you to get re-connected with that important sense. It is an opportunity to power down and immerse yourself in the tactile nature of clay whilst spending quality time with your partner or friends.
Arriving at Firing Time Pottery on Saturday morning, you will be guided through a project by your experienced instructor Melanie. Refreshments and a delicious lunch will be served. Later, you will be treated to a visit at a local spa which will nourish your senses and have you tingling. You have a choice of a Hungarian Mud body wrap, a Hungarian Mud facial or a signature pedicure.
Following the spa, you will arrive at your accommodation in Brighton. There, Chef Signe Langford will serve you a delicious meal she prepared earlier. Feel free to bring your own libations.
The following morning, Melanie will join you there. A continental breakfast will be provided. You will decorate your project from the day before with underglazes. The day will end around 12 when you are free to explore the beautiful areas around Northumberland.
Please note that the piece made will be ready in 3-4 weeks to allow time for firing and they will be shipped to you.
There will be a maximum of 6 people to optimize instruction time. Your instructor Melanie has lots of experience in teaching all age groups and abilities. This package would ideally suit a group of 6 friends. The cottage has 3 bedrooms; 2 double beds and 1 twin room with 2 bathrooms. It is open plan and intimate.
